It's all about films (Mine and others). |
Hi again, like last year I’m doing a top 10 list of what I think are the best films of 2012, like in the past I’ll put it in a 10 - 1 order and also I’ll post it with a image and some words on why I loved the film, so here are they.
10) The Grey

Joe Carnahan is a director that I like for his entertaining movies like Smokin’ Aces and The A Team but after watching this impressive film I have to say that I fuckin’ respect the guy and I have to follow from now on.
9) Beasts Of The Southern Wild

Considered by many websites as the most “overrated” film of the year, I thought that it’s not overrated because it totally deserves it’s praise, it’s like watching a B movie Disney version of The Tree Of Life which I totally love.
8) Skyfall

Many people considered Quantum of Solace a big disappointment after the magnificent Casino Royale but I thought it was kind of good, not great but Okayish, so for me Skyfall represented a level up for the 007 franchise, the cinematography was freakin’ amazing, the performances where incredible and the last act wow! it really surprised me.
7) Argo

After The Town I had really high expectations for the next Ben Affleck directed flick and man the guy didn’t disappoint, here is a film in the style of a classic 70’s thriller, perfectly written and directed.
6) Safety Not Guaranteed

Watched this little but amazing film a few days ago, I didn’t expect much but that ended up better for me because the result was really good, the messages, the story it makes you feel so good, I though Beats Of The Southern Wild was the “feel good” film of the year but not, this one is.
5) The Dark Knight Rises

The conclusion of The Caped Crusader trilogy by Christopher Nolan finished with a bang and what a bang, Nolan has bring the perfect trilogy of all time in my opinion and I have watched The Godfather trilogy.
4) Looper

Almost 2 years ago I watched Rian Johnson’s Brick for the first time and I was surprised by it’s originality and style so after I heard that he was going to make a sci-fi film with JGL I was really exited with high expectations and those expectations were surpassed by his new and outstanding film.
3) Django Unchained
![]()
Quentin Tarantino has finally made a western and despite losing his beloved and really talented editor he has bring us one the year best films and one of the year best acting ensembles, every actor shines in the film and Tarantino’s direction is really passionate here that it keeps with you.
2) The Perks Of Being A Wallflower

When I watched the trailer of this film I thought that it was going to be average teen flick but it was all the opposite, it’s dark, real and really nostalgic and I have also read the book and I can really say that the auger knew how to handle this amazing film adaptation.
1) Prometheus

And we finally come to the end of the list, many of you are gonna say that I’m really crazy for putting this almost perfect film as the best film 2012 but hey this is my list, Riddley Scott has directed once again another amazing film, with it’s questions, doubts, performances, sequences and jaw dropping visuals it’s a film that deserves a spot between the best sci-fi films of all time.
Honorable mentions: Lincoln, Flight, The Amazing Spider-Man, Chronicle, The Hunger Games, The Avengers.
Watched Django Unchained yesterday… I really liked it, not Tarantino’s best but definately is one of the best films of 2012.
We are in August and that means that we are starting the excellent films period of the year.
I’m exited to see The Master, Django Unchained and a lot more of film that are looking really great.
So this movies are what I think are the best films of the year so far.
5) Chronicle
The first 2 acts are great, shame for the last act that almost makes this film lost his genius potential.
4) The Hunger Games
I think this is one of the most overrated films of the year but I also thought that perhaps it’s fanbase is a really good movie, so thrilling and Jennifer Lawrence is amazing in it.
3) The Amazing Spider-Man
The Spider-Man adaptation I always wanted, it has some flaws on the story but it’s so good that I can forgive that.
2) Prometheus
This is the most revealing film of the year in the opinion and the most thrilling also, so many things on it that it deserves a place between the best sci-fi films ever.
1) The Dark Knight Rises
What can I say? I have seen it twice, actually I’ve seen twice all of the movies of this post except for Chronicle and I have to say that the emotion of the last installment of Nolan’s Batman trilogy still wins the battle of best film of the year in my opinion.
Still need to watch a lot of films to make the top 10 of the year this December so I’ll keep posting my mini reviews.

Wow, just wow.
This is my favorite Batman film, I loved the perfection of The Dark Knight but Rises has an emotion about Batman that it makes you feel so emotional about it.
Really for me at the moment this is the best film of the year so far, Nolan you’ve done it again sir.
So I just watched The Amazing Spider-Man for the second time, yeah I liked it that much.
Of course it has it’s mistakes but is actually the Spidey film I ever wanted, it was almost like if I directed it.
And I really want a freakin’ director’s cut.
So I watched Prometheus and I have to say that damn! best film of 2012 so far.
Ridley Scott’s direction is perfect here, it has an awesome cinematography too (Red Epic!)
Every performance is great here, the story really makes you to question yourself and your thoughts about our beginning, definitely a great sci-fi film.
Also I almost forgot to mention the film’s music which is really good, very nostalgic to old sci-fi films.
So it’s my graduation today.
I don’t even care, I just want the thing to happen fast so I can move on.
Also it’s a nice excuse to put this awesome Third Eye Blind song.
I know that I made this list a while a go but I started to remember some other films that I’ve been really looking forward to.
Dark Shadows
It’s Tim Burton going dark!
Django Unchained
An spaghetti western by QT? YES PLEASE!

5.- “John Carter” / “Django Unchained” (tied)
I know all the trailers are shit but I have been waiting for this since 2009.
